Edson Arantes Pelé, also known simply as Pelé, is considered one of the greatest soccer players of all time. He was born in Tres Coracoes, Brazil in 1940 and began playing soccer at a young age. Pelé quickly rose to fame as a teenager, scoring his first goal for Santos FC at the age of 15. He went on to become the youngest player ever to score a goal in a World Cup match at the age of 17 in 1958.
Throughout his career, Pelé played for Santos FC, the New York Cosmos, and the Brazilian national team. He is the only player to have ever won the World Cup three times, with Brazil in 1958, 1962, and 1970. He also holds the record for the most goals scored in World Cup history with 12 goals in total. In addition to his World Cup success, Pelé also won numerous domestic and international titles, including multiple Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup titles with Santos FC.
