Top 10 Players who will retire after 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.






The largest football competition in history is just around the corner!

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 through December 18.



The biggest names in football will team up with their national teams to compete for the most coveted trophy and the title of world champions.

Some superstars, though, might be playing in their final World Cup as we speak. There are players who are edging closer to the retirement age and Qatar 2022 would become their last opportunity to shine.



Who will retires after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar?



Pepe, 39 y/o

The 38-year-old, Pepe is still active today and currently serves as Porto's captain. Portuguese centre-back, was also selected for Portugal's Euro 2020 team and joined Ruben Dias at centre defence for all four matches.



Diego Godin, 36 y/o

Godin, a centre back from Uruguay who presently represents Cagliari Calcio in Serie A, has previously participated in three World Cups, in 2010, 2014, and 2018.



Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 40 y/o

The Sweden international assisted AC Milan in getting back to winning ways and won the Serie A championship at the conclusion of the 2021–2022 season, although it is still unknown if he will be able to play again once he recovers.



Olivier Giroud, 34 y/o

Giroud, 34, may make his final World Cup appearance next year after playing just 40 minutes for the French national team this summer.



Guillermo Ochoa, 37 y/o

After the 2019 season, Mexico's renowned goalkeeper, who everyone knows from the Globe Cup 2014 in Brazil, when he dazzled the football world, may retire.

Ochoa will play in his fourth World Cup in Qatar in 2022, despite missing the prior two tournaments.



Thiago Silva, 37 y/o

Brazil's captain has had a legendary period in both his club and national careers. Recent injury issues have kept Thiago Silva out of the Brazil and Chelsea squads, thus the option to change careers may be taken after Qatar 2022.



Luka Modric, 36 y/o

The 35-year-old Modric, who is also the Croatian player with the most appearances, will be remembered as one of the game's greatest midfielders. In Russia in 2018, the Croatian skipper guided his nation to its first World Cup final in history.



Sergio Ramos, 36 y/o

Ramos was left out of Luis Enrique's Euro 2020 team, due to Spain qualifies for the World Cup and Luis Enrique calls Ramos up, that might be his final game wearing the La Furia Roja jersey.



Giorgio Chiellini, 38 y/o

After Italy's friendly match against Argentina at Wembley in June, Giorgio Chiellini has already declared his retirement from international football.

Gianluigi Buffon, 44 y/o
