Trophee des Champions 2022: PSG beat Nantes 4-0 to wins the French Super Cup in Tel Aviv, Israel.

  • French champions Paris Saint-Germain won the Trophee des Champions, or French Super Cup, for the 11th time after beating French Cup holders Nantes 4-0 on Sunday evening in Israel.

With a full house of 29,400 spectators, the game was hosted at Bloomfield Stadium in the beachfront city of Tel Aviv-Yafo for the second consecutive year.

Leo Messi and Neymar ensured that PSG would not lose the Super Cup to Lille again even without Kylian Mbappe, who was suspended for receiving multiple yellow cards.

Gianluigi Donnarumma of PSG and Alban Lafont of Nantes both made saves in the first minutes of the game, while PSG captain Marquinhos' header hit the crossbar.

In the 22nd minute, Messi scored to give Paris Saint-Germain the lead following an assist from Neymar.

Neymar added a second goal with an outstanding free kick from 20 metres away in the last seconds of the first half.

In the 57th minute, Sergio Ramos scored PSG's third goal with a backheel strike.

After being fouled in the penalty area by Jean-Charles Castelletto, who was then sent off, Neymar sealed the outcome with a penalty in the 82nd minute. ■
