AFC Women’s Club Championship 2021: Amman Club beat Shahrdari Sirjan to lift title.
Jordan’s Amman Club defeated Islamic Republic of Iran’s Shahrdari Sirjan 2-1 to win the AFC Women’s Club Championship 2021 at the Aqaba Development Corporate Stadium, Jordan on Saturday.
Goals by captain Maysa Jbarah and Shahnaz Jebreen secured Amman Club the title as they shook off the Matchday Two defeat to Uzbekistan’s Bunyodkor FC to lift the trophy.
Amman’s best chance came at the half-hour mark when Enshirah Alhyasat forced a fine save from Shahrdari Sirjan goalkeeper Arefeh Kazemi, who then foiled Jbarah’s effort six minutes later.
Shahrdari Sirjan came close to finding the net in the 76th minute when Melika Motevalli squeezed her shot inside a crowded penalty box, but Amman custodian Malak Shannak did well to save her effort.
Amman, however, sealed the victory when Jebreen finished off a fine team move with a curling effort past a diving Kazemi in the 84th minute with Afsaneh Chatrenoor's penalty conversion in stoppage time a consolation for Shahrdari Sirjan.
